Dave Frye was born in New Martinsville, West Virginia. He received his American Flint Glass Workers Union
 Skill card and worked as an apprentice under his dad Bud Frye in the early 1960's. Later he was employed
at Imperial Glass in Bellaire, Ohio for eight years. He then began work for Fostoria Glass in Moundsville,
West Virginia in 1970 and was employed there as a Gatherer and Finisher until Fostoria Glass closed in 1982.
Since his employment with Fostoria Glass,  Mr. Frye has made glassware
for several businesses' including: Lenox
Crystal, Louise Glass, and Beaumont in Morgantown, West Virginia. Mr. Frye has been featured in many forms of
media such as Schiffer Publishing Ltd's Fostoria Glass book for collectors as well as local newspapers.
Today Mr. Frye continues to make custom glassware from his privately owned glass studio in Shadyside, Ohio.
